About the course: Genetics and Society is an upper level common curriculum course taken by non-majors. The fundamental principles of genetics will be presented so that students can develop the knowledge base to critically evaluated the issues in genetics that we as a society are facing. Topics will include: human development and reproduction, inheritance, genetic engineering and biotechnology, cancer and the human genome project. Societal and ethical considerations of current genetic research and practices will be discussed using articles from the popular press. Click here to see a current syllabus.

1. Click on the Blackboard link on Loyola's home page or go to: http://blackboard.loyno.edu/

2. Login with your user name (everything before the @ in your email address).

3. Your password is set to your birthdate, six numbers, year first, then two numbers for the month. e.g. if you were born in May of 1983, your password would be 198305.

4. Click on "login".

5. Click on the course name.
