Magister: A Free Placement Service for K-12 Latin and Greek Programs and Teachers in Louisiana

The purpose of this website is to facilitate the connection between those qualified to teach Latin and Greek and the schools which have openings in the state of Louisiana. By providing a central location where schools can post job descriptions and job seekers can learn about openings and even post links to their own resumes, we hope to improve the flow of information about the opportunties in Louisiana.

New Openings

By clicking on NEW OPENINGS (updated 12/5/06) you will find a list of schools currently seeking teachers. The name of each school will provide a link to the description of the position and will provide contact information for the school. In addition, you will also find a link to the American Classical League Website and Placement Service for K-12 jobs across the US.

Candidates

By clicking on CANDIDATES (updated 6/28/06) you will find a list of names of those who are seeking positions. Their names will provide links to their resumes.

Any school which has an opening should e-mail a copy of the job description (preferably in the body of the e-mail and not as an attachment) to rodrigue@loyno.edu or to the snail-mail address below. E-mail is preferred. Make sure to include the deadline for applications and the contact information.

Likewise, any person seeking employment in Latin or Greek in Louisiana who has an on-line resume should send the url to rodrigue@loyno.edu. Make sure that your contact information is on your resume, but please do not assume that a school will contact you. It is much better for you to contact the school.

The information will be posted to the site as quickly and accurately as possible, but I do ask that you proof your information within 48 hours so that any corrections can be made. I also ask that once a position has been filled or a candidate has accepted a job, please let me know so that I can keep the site as up-to-date as possible.

Please spread the word about this site.
