About BAP

Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign by Hiram T. Scovill. The organization was founded to promote interest about the field of accounting and encourage high ethical standards in the accounting profession. Beta Alpha Psi believes in the three principles of scholarship, practicality, and social responsibility. Only people that demonstrate high ethical standards are allowed to join. Since its inception, Beta Alpha Psi has inducted over 300,000 members and chartered 263 chapters. The Loyola University New Orleans chapter, Beta Zeta, was chartered in 1960.
