Thinking Critically, Acting Justly:

Reaching New Heights

Double Trouble

Loyola’s very own dynamic duo, Trenell and Trenese Smith, from LaPlace, La., continue to bring success to the women’s Wolfpack basketball team. In addition to helping Loyola win the 2007 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships, each sister has been named a GCAC Player of the Week and All-GCAC. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) honored Trenese to their All-American women’s second team and Trenell with an All-American women’s honorable mention. Most recently, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association named both sisters to the All-Louisiana teams.

Trenell is 10th in NAIA three-point field goal percentage, 12th in NAIA in assists, and 17th in the division with field goal percentage.

During the 2006 – 07 academic year, the women’s basketball team had a combined 3.38 GPA, placing them 15th in the NAIA, and demonstrating that Loyola athletes score both on the court and in the classroom.
