Loyola University New Orleans

Loyola University New Orleans offers:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner track: The Post-Baccalaureate to DNP program incorporates the science of behavioral health approaches in primary care system designs and practice to provide a more comprehensive and effective outcome experience for patients and systems.

What is unique about the Loyola University New Orleans DNP?

  • Our DNP graduates are steeped in Ignatian values and educated in the Jesuit tradition of social justice, critical thinking, and commitment to service - making them even more marketable to medical and healthcare communities.
  • Our DNP students experience diversity of thought from various professionals around the country, adding to an expanded "thought leadership" approach in education. Our priority is the development of your personal potential.
  • The online DNP program has no campus residency requirements other than an orientation annually and your return to defend the capstone at the conclusion of your program.
  • Finally, the Doctor of Nursing Practice program is crafted around the "AACN 8 Essentials for Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice."

I chose Loyola University because they offer the program online, and I could continue being a travel nurse while enrolled in the program. I also love Loyola's nursing school mission, 'A world where every Nurse is a Leader.' That gave me the feel that the school would be very supportive of everyone's passion, leadership, and goals for their future careers after obtaining the DNP. I also loved the fact that the school was listed as one of the best online schools in the nation. This is why I chose Loyola.
