Writing Assistance for Off-Campus Students

If you need assistance with any part of the writing process – brainstorming, prewriting, drafting, writing, revising, editing, proofreading - Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) is here to help. WAC offers free peer tutoring for all registered Loyola students. We can tutor face-to-face, via email or over the phone.

At WAC, tutors do not edit students’ papers. Instead, we take a more collaborative approach. Student and tutor work together to highlight the writer’s strengths, establish writing goals, and recognize areas that need further development.

Flexible walk-in hours (Fall and Spring semesters). No appointments are necessary:
Bobet 100
M-Th 9am – 7pm
F 9am-4pm
Sun 4pm-9pm

For distance learners (and Summer students), WAC offers online tutoring:

To have a tutor look at your paper, you may submit a draft online. Please provide your professor’s name, the due date, the assignment prompt, and any specific writing questions or concerns. Your paper will be forwarded to one of our peer tutors, and he or she will provide written feedback.

Allow 3 business days for tutor responses

Over-the-phone tutoring:

Please submit a draft online and provide the following: your phone number, the best time to reach you to discuss your paper, your professor’s name, the due date, the assignment prompt, and any specific writing questions or concerns. Your paper will be forwarded to one of our peer tutors, and he or she will contact you.

Allow 3 business days for tutor responses

We look forward to working with you.
