LUCAP: Loyola Community Action Program
LUCAP is a significant student-run organization that places more than 100 Loyola volunteers each semester in social work and community development projects. LUCAP members find themselves working on behalf of the hungry, the homeless, and the powerless from the conviction when one of us hurts, we all hurt.
MMAIDS: Medical Mission Aids Society
MMAIDS provides opportunity for students to work with various organizations that provide service to those in need. Hospice Care of Louisiana enables students to work with patients that are terminally ill. Donated medical supplies are packaged and sent off to area that suffer from poverty or natural disasters. Annual medical mission trips are offered to students so that they can have hands-on experience with third world countries.
LUSSO: Loyola University Sociology Student Organization
LUSSO is a student organization that works towards improving social justice at Loyola and in the New Orleans community. LUSSO members have been involved in providing hunger relief to the homeless and raising awareness about sweatshops.
