- The Public Relations Student Society of American team (PRSSA) The 2005 Loyola Bateman team won the national competition sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Loyola teams also won the national competition in 1997, 2000, and 2003, and placed second in 2004 and third in 2002.
- The American Marketing Association Case Team College of Business students excel in national competitions. In 2005, the student marketing team placed second in the American Marketing Association International Case Competition. The team presented a promotion plan for Goodyear/Sullivan. In 2003, the student marketing team placed second in the American Marketing Association Case Competition held at the American Marketing Association’s 25th Annual International Collegiate Conference. The competition involved creating a marketing plan for Pringles Potato Crisps, a brand marketed by Proctor & Gamble.
- In 2005, three M.B.A. students won the BusinessWeek Student Case Writing Competition. The College of Business Administration SIFE Team (Students in Free Enterprise) was selected as “Rookie Team of the Year” in the annual SIFE Team competition.
- The Loyola Advertising Team The Loyola Advertising Team won first place in the 2005 and 2002 Seventh District National Student Advertising Competitions, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation.
- Christina Ung, ’05, a drama/communications major, was named American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Minority Student Finalist.
- Top Ten Seniors of 2005 - Awarded by the Center for Student Leadership Development
- Student researchers in the sciences and social sciences have earned Claire Booth Luce Scholars grants, National Science Foundation undergraduate research grants, and corporate grants.
- The Maroon, the weekly student newspaper, won the Pacemaker Award for the 1997 - 98 academic year, the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize for college newspapers. In 2003, The Maroon was presented with a Mark of Excellence Award by the Society of Professional Journalists. For the second consecutive year, The Maroon was named best non-daily paper. Several students were also cited for excellence for their contributions.
- Philosophy and religious studies students have garnered Rhodes, Fulbright, British Marshall, and other internationally distinguished fellowships.
- Kristi Chenoweth, ’03, was named one of three Business Valuation Services Scholarship recipients nationwide.
- Aside from successes on the fields, courts, and tracks, Loyola athletes posted a 3.02 grade point average.
