  • Tulane officials approached Billie Ann Wilson, RN, Ph.D., chair of City College's Department of Nursing, when they became interested in facilitating the educational growth of their employees. In partnership with Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, City College's Department of Nursing was awarded a $2,468,447 grant from the Louisiana Department of Labor Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP).
  • Acclaimed New Orleans novelist and Loyola Professor of English John Biguenet teams with adjunct theatre professor and Southern Repertory Theatre artistic director to stage the world premiere of The Vulgar Soul
  • Loyola selected law professor, Kathryn Venturatos Lorio, as the year’s academic leader. A member of the law faculty since 1976, Lorio was honored at the university’s spring convocation January 7, where University President Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Walter Harris, Ph.D., presented her with the 2005 Dux Academicus Award.
  • James M. Klebba, Victor H. Schiro Distinguished Professor of Law and former dean of the School of Law, and Jeanne Woods, Henry, F. Bonura, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Law, have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships to lecture, respectively, at the University of Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, and China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, China, during the 2004 – 05 academic year.
  • Professor of Biology Patricia Dorn conducts significant study into Chagas Disease.
  • Professor of Business Administration Caroline Fisher has led her student American Marketing Association team to victories.
  • College of Music Professor Philip Frohnmayer is an acclaimed soloist and teacher whose students have consistently excelled in major contests, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) young artists auditions, the Houston Grand Opera Auditions, and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
  • Professor of Communications Cathy Rogers has led student advertising and student public relations teams to success in consecutive years of national competition.
  • Professor of Business Administration Brenda Joyner was awarded the Certificate of Distinction for Outstanding Research in Entrepreneurship and Independent Business by the Academy of Management and the NFIB Education Foundation.
  • Professor of Communications Larry Lorenz received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Press Club of New Orleans.
  • Professor of English John Mosier’s The Myths of War: A New Military History of WWI, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in History.
  • Professor of Political Science Edward Renwick, an expert on Louisiana politics, was named Best Pollster in New Orleans.
