- Tulane officials approached Billie Ann Wilson, RN, Ph.D., chair of City College's Department of Nursing, when they became interested in facilitating the educational growth of their employees. In partnership with Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, City College's Department of Nursing was awarded a $2,468,447 grant from the Louisiana Department of Labor Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP).
- Acclaimed New Orleans novelist and Loyola Professor of English John Biguenet teams with adjunct theatre professor and Southern Repertory Theatre artistic director to stage the world premiere of The Vulgar Soul
- Loyola selected law professor, Kathryn Venturatos Lorio,
as the year’s academic leader. A member of the law faculty since 1976, Lorio was honored at the university’s spring convocation January 7, where University President Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Walter Harris, Ph.D., presented her with the
2005 Dux Academicus Award.

Serbia and Montenegro, and China University of Political Science
and Law, Beijing, China, during the 2004 – 05 academic year.
