English I

English I is a comprehensive course in literature, composition, and language including listening and speaking.

Algebra I

Variables, factoring simple polynomials, rational and irrational numbers, solving simple quadratic equations, algebraic fractions, graphing, and solving equations in one and two variables will be covered in this course.

Physical Science

This course will cover the study of the major concepts of two sciences – chemistry and physics.

Spanish I

This introductory course will focus on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

This introductory course will focus on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

Spanish II

Spanish II will build on the foundation laid in Spanish I. 

GEE 21 English Language Arts

This course will target the language arts skills needed for success on the GEE 21 in English Language Arts.

Geometry

This course will cover the properties and relationships of points, lines, angles, curves, surface and solids.

GEE 21 Math

This course will specifically target the State Math Content Standards.

Biology

Course content will give participants an understanding of the principles and concepts of living things and their organization. The participant will be introduced to the laboratory setting and will investigate plant and animal life.

Algebra II

The participants will be introduced to functions, relations and their graphs. The use of scientific calculators will be incorporated into this course.

Spanish I

This introductory course will focus on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

Spanish II

Spanish II will build on the foundation laid in Spanish I. 

Chemistry

This course will introduce the basic principles of chemistry through laboratory and classroom experiences. 

Advanced Math

This course will combine Trigonometry and Analysis/Advanced Math/Pre-Calculus. The use of graphing calculators will be incorporated.

English III

Participants will respond to literature for various genres and cultures-including written, spoken and visual texts-with American authors as the common focus. 

GEE 21 Science

The State Content Standards for Science will be covered. Participants with a high academic risk in science will be enrolled in the course during the academic year.

ACT English

This course will increase competencies in reading, writing, and vocabulary building as it relates to improving ACT scores. Test-Taking strategies will be incorporated into the course.

ACT Math

This course will consist of elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, and trigonometry as it relates to increasing ACT scores. Test-Taking strategies will be incorporated into the course.

ACT Science

This course will increase competencies in the Scientific Method. Reading comprehension will be stressed. Participants will be required to use the following cognitive levels: understanding, analysis, and generalization.

Calculus

Participants will cover limits and the differentiation and integration of functions of one or more variables. The use of graphing calculators will be incorporated into this course.

Spanish I

This introductory course will focus on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

Spanish II

Spanish II will build on the foundation laid in Spanish I. 

Advanced Math

This course will combine Trigonometry and Analysis/Advanced Math/Pre-Calculus. The use of graphing calculators will be incorporated.

English IV

Participants will respond to literature for various genres and cultures-including written, spoken and visual texts-with British authors as the common focus.

Physics

This will be a laboratory-based course, which will deal with application of the natural laws and with problem solving.

ACT English

This course will increase competencies in reading, writing, and vocabulary building as it relates to improving ACT scores. Test-Taking strategies will be incorporated into the course.

ACT Math

This course will consist of elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, and trigonometry as it relates to increasing ACT scores. Test-Taking strategies will be incorporated into the course.
