* When the University is closed for holidays or summer break, the mass times change.

Ministers of the Word and Eucharist:

We have periodic trainings (mostly in early fall) for students who wish to serve as readers and ministers of the Eucharist.

Ministers of the Word:

Ministers of Music:

We meet one hour prior to mass to practice in Ignatius Chapel.

Las Misas en Español

De vez en cuando tenemos la celebracion de la misa en español.  Es un momento especial para reunir con los de nuestros paises de América Latina y rezar en nuestra propia lengua. Spanish Masses are held periodically during the semester. Contact Fr. Jim CaimeS.J. for more information at 865-3595.

Mass of the Holy Spirit

An annual celebration to begin the year in communal worship to ask for the Holy Spirit's blessing on our academic year. The mass is normally scheduled the second Thursday after Labor Day at 11:30 A.M. in Holy Name of Jesus Church. Contact Fr. Jim Caime, S.J.for more information at 865-3595.

Outdoor Mass

Mass held once a semester planned in cooperation with SGA and other Loyola organizations. Bring a blanker, sit under the moonlight and celebrate the Eucharist! (We always need help setting up for this celebration, so let us know if you are willing to help.)

Memorial Mass

Annual mass to remember loved ones who have died. This mass is usually celebrated the first Tuesday or Thursday of November, a month traditionally noted for remembering those who have died. Please invite your friends, or others who may be grieving.

Martyrs' Mass

Annual commemoration of the Jesuit and lay martyrs of El Salvador, and other martyrs around the world. The mass is part of a weeklong event with educational activities and services to recognize the efforts of martyrs around the world who have sacrificed their lives for social justice.  Martyrs' week begins with the Martyrs' Memorial Liturgies at 10:30 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. Sunday masses in Ignatius Chapel.

Fall "Final" Mass and Pancake Breakfast

The final 9:00 p.m. mass of the fall semester is held during finals in the Danna Center Lounge, followed by a pancake breakfast in the Orleans Room.  If you didn't study, you'd better come pray (you should pray anyway, and study, for that matter...) This event is co-sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs.

Au Revoir Mass

The final 9:00 PM mass of the spring semester is dedicated to honor all of our graduating seniors. Students share their reflections on their experience at Loyola and a special blessing is given to all graduating seniors. Mass is followed by a pancake breakfast in the Orleans Room.

Baccalaureate Mass

A Mass held as part of the graduation activities to celebrate the graduates of Loyola. The mass will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 4PM in the Sports Complex. Contact Fr. Jim Caime, S.J. for more information at 865-3595.
