Liturgy Services:

  • 12:00 noon Mass on Wednesday in the Martha and Mary Chapel located in Greenville Hall. Click here to see a map of the Broadway campus.
  • 12:30 p.m. Law School Community Masses two Thursdays a month (contact Arlene for schedule) in the Martha and Mary Chapel in Greenville Hall, with lunch following.
    Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate as Readers or Extraordinary Ministers of Communion for the Masses. Click here to sign up for these ministries via email with Arlene Wiltz.
  • Student Participation in the Red Mass, held at the St Louis Cathedral on the first Monday in October. The Red Mass is sponsored by the Catholic Bishops of the State of Louisiana and the St Thomas More Catholic Lawyers Associaton.
  • Law students who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation may sign up for the 8-10 week Confirmation program. Click here to see our Confirmation page.
  • Law students who are considering joining the Catholic Church, receiving their first Eucharist or simply growing in their faith are encouraged to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A). Click here to see our R.C.I.A. page..
  • The University Baccalaureate Mass is held as part of the graduation activities to celebrate the May and summer graduates.


  • We offer many worship and prayer opprtunties involving a variety of faith ackgrounds with University Ministry. Community and Support:

  • The Food Pantry supports students who experience a temporary financial crisis; located in BAC 102. Contact Arlene Wiltz.
  • Spiritual Direction is avilable for couples or individuals.
  • Suited for Work is a program providing donated suits for both male and female law students who need appropriate dress for interviews or jobs.
  • Wedding Preparation is available for Law students who are engaged and planning for marriage. Click here for more information about Weddings in Ignatius Chapel and Marriage Preparation.
  • Need some silence? Check out our Silent Ignatian Retreat-- three days of you, God and nature! Click here for more information and to sign up.

Events:

  • Law School Orientation - Introduction to Ignatian Spirituality and Jesuit Educational Tradition
  • Presentations for law students and their spouse or significant other to learn about creative ways to "survive" the stress and tribulations of being in law school.
  • Night Fevers - (co-sponsored with the SBA); this is a monthly opportunity for students who attend Law School in the evening to get together for supper and conversation before classes. Deans of the Law School are present to visit with the students.
  • Various Presentations on "Law and Spirituality" are held throughout the year.

Community Outreach:

  • Serving the Homeless of Thanksgiving Day


  • Mission Trip to Mexico over the Mardi Gras holidays to build houses for the poor there. This program is in conjunction with the Archdiocese of New Orleans Office for the Propogation of the Faith. For more information and an application form, click here to see our Spring Immersion trip page.

  • Advent Angel Program: Law School individuals, offices and organizations "adopt" children for whom they purchase Christmas gifts. This program is sponsored in conjunction with the LA State Bar Association.
  • Donation Drives are held periodically throughout the year.
