Hunger Free Communities or Hunger Free Neighborhood as is the case in New Orleans after hurricanes Katrina and Rita has a whole new meaning. In a city known for its plentiful and delicious food, hunger is a present reality. An organization that is changing the face of hunger in the neighborhood of New Orleans East is Just the Right Attitude (JTRA). JTRA provides a week’s supply of food for over 15,000 families each month. As families return to New Orleans East to rebuild their houses, JTRA provides 5,000 hot meals each month to individuals in need of food. JTRA does this without federal, state or city dollars. They are dependent upon donations to keep the food coming. Check out JTRA by going to their website at www.jtra.org. Donations are tax deductible and are really needed.
