Founded in 1948 by Fr. Louis J. Twomey S.J., the Blueprint for Social Justice continues to be a "serious examination of those conscious and unconscious assumptions of contemporary American civilization that tend to perpetuate inequities and institutional injustices."

| Blueprint editor, Al Alcazar, shows a copy of a speech from the former Superior General of the Jesuits with all references to the need for social justice and peace in Jesuit higher education redacted. Alcazar got the idea from a group of seminarians in Peru during the 1970s who found more than a thousand holes after cutting out references to the injustices done to the poor, the orphans, the widows, and other marginalized peoples from the pages of the Bible. | |
