About Pre-Health/Pre-Med Professions

Pre-Health/Pre-Med Advising at Loyola University New Orleans is handled collaboratively by college faculty and staff. The two primary groups responsible for Pre-Health/Pre-Med Advising are:

The Pre-Health-Professions Committee (LUPHPC/PHPC)

The PHPC provides all interested Loyola University New Orleans students with information and advice about applying to graduate programs in the health professions. The PHPC also writes committee letters of recommendation for students who do apply to health professional schools. The PHPC is comprised of Faculty from a variety of departments.

The Pre-Health Professions Advisor (LUPHPA/PHPA)

The PHPA advises students and recent alumni interested in the health care and medical professions. The advisor helps students with questions related to curriculum, course selection, professionally-related extra-curricular opportunities, and the selection of graduate schools, as well as application requirements and procedures for graduate admission.

Note: The PHPA is not an academic advising office. The PHPC, Faculty, and dedicated academic advisors assist students when it comes to registration and course scheduling. If you need help with registration, you should make an appointment with your academic advisor. For more information regarding academic advising please look here.
