Emergency Information

University Police—For ordinary assistance or information regarding security, dial 3434; for on-campus emergencies (security or fire), dial 911. The blue light emergency telephones, located throughout both campuses and in the parking garages, connects the caller directly to the university police office without the need to dial. When telephoning from off-campus, dial 865-3434.

Fire—In case of fire, dial 911 or telephone the New Orleans Fire Department, 581-3473, then notify University Police. Do not attempt to put out the fire before calling the Fire Department.

Emergency Cancellation of Classes—If it becomes necessary to cancel classes due to inclement weather, listen to local radio and TV stations and/or call the emergency information line at 865-2186 for a recorded message which will indicate if classes are cancelled.
