Our Mission
The Office of Student Health Services provides primary care treatment for and education about personal health issues for both residential and non-residential, full-time and part-time students who have provided the department with a complete medical history form. The Office of Student Health Services is supervised by the medical director. Physician services are offered Monday - Friday during designated clinic hours. The department has a licensed lab which performs several in-house tests and has an agreement with MetroLab to perform lab work, which is billed to the student's permanent address.
No fees are charged for treatment in the Office of Student Health Services. However, patients are responsible for prescriptions or lab work ordered by the physician. Patients are also responsible for any hospital services and physician or lab fees charged for services off campus whether or not the patient was referred by the Office of Student Health Services.
The Office of Student Health Services makes referrals to local hospitals and walk-in clinics.
Loyola students are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Health Services if hospitalized. Once notified, the department will inform the student's college dean's office and faculty of the hospitalization.
For good cause, the university may require a physical or psychiatric examination while a student is in attendance. Results of these examinations may be used to determine a student's suitability to continue in attendance at the university.
