Student Health Insurance
Bollinger Insurance company offers a plan endorsed by the University. Brochures about the program can be obtained in the Student Health Service. All students living in the residence halls or those who have nonimmigrant visas must show proof of comparable coverage or purchase this plan.
In an effort to minimize out-of pocket expense, benefits afforded under this plan include access to a Preferred Provider Organization. Arrangements have been made with Community Care Network (CCN) to provide discounted services to Loyola University insured students and insured dependents. 80% of the PPO allowable charges will be paid when you select an in-network provider. When services are rendered by non-participating providers, however, benefits are reduced to 50% of allowable charges for in-patient charges, and 80% of allowable charges for outpatient charges.
The $200 deductible will be waived if a student receives a referral from Student Health Service prior to inpatient or outpatient care off campus. A student may visit in person or telephone Student Health Service to obtain a referral.
Among local network providers are the following:
Hospitals (as of December 3, 2007)
- East Jefferson General Hospital
- Tulane University Hospital & Clinic
- Tulane Lakeside Hospital
- Oschner Foundation Hospital
- Touro Infirmary
- West Jefferson Medical Center
