Richard Frank Grant
The Richard Frank Grant rewards academic initiative by providing Loyola students with the opportunity to receive funding and support for scholarly research projects. The grant, named in honor of distinguished former faculty member Dr. Richard Frank, honors the Ignatian traditions of developing personal potential through the pursuit of excellence, critical thinking, and experience through direct engagement. The scholarly research produced by Richard Frank Grant recipients serves as a lasting tribute to both Loyola University New Orleans and the greater academic community.

Persis's project is for the intent to create a reed making class for oboe students. Making reeds for oboists is a crucial skill in which they need for their careers. This projects allows the students to learn the ability without having to spend an excessive amount of money.- - -

Dan's project is to put on the production of a one-act play, which will utilize Loyola students for all aspects of the play. This play will expose Loyola students to a new work of art and will showcase the Loyola community.- - -

The Effect of Aging on Water Uptake for Tropospherically Relevant Ultra Fine Particles
Hunter's project takes a look at global warming in the aspect of water uptake or water absorption. The uptake process will be studied in a laboratory using particles that model a particle generated by wave action. The project intends on qualitatively explaining and quantitatively predicting water uptake on a particle before and after it undergoes a chemical reaction with the ozone.- - -
Hanna King
Psychology SeniorSex Differences, Hormonal Involvement, and Age-related Changes in Hemispheric Lateralization
Hanna's project looks to determine if the sex differences in the degree to which the right and/or left hemisphere of the brain is used in certain cognitive task changes throughout the lifetime and if these changes are related to changes in estrogen or progesterone levels in women.
