Urban League College Track
Urban League College Track is an after-school and summer program in New Orleans for under-resourced high school students who are motivated to earn a college degree. College Track sets high expectations and provides rigorous academic preparation, opportunities for leadership development, enrichment activities, and guidance through the college application and selection process. Our services include monitoring students' high school performance, guidance in selecting high school classes, SAT/ACT test preparation, tutoring, specialized academic workshops, community service activities, summer internships, college tours and information sessions, financial aid workshops and counseling, and seminars on transitioning to college life.
Loyola service learning students can serve as tutors and advisors to College Track participants. Loyola service learning students can also help by planning and participating in group community service activities with the students in the College Track program; planning and setting up college tours or providing informational workshops on college life; or providing academic workshops on subjects that match their interests and passions (theater, dance, music, art, book club, history, chemistry, world cultures, health and nutrition, foreign languages, boys groups or girls groups, etc).
