Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR)

STAIR is a children's literacy program that provides one-on-one tutoring in reading and language skills to public school students in danger of academic failure.

Loyola service learning students will be trained to work directly with second graders at one of STAIR's locations. Please note that all Loyola students will need to attend a training session. Locations include:

St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church

• Location: 1545 State Street
• Transportation: Walkable
• Days and times: Monday-Thursday afternoons 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

• Transportation: Bikeable, or take the St. Charles streetcar INBOUND (toward the French Quarter) to General Taylor St.

• Location: 2727 S. Carrollton Ave.
• Transportation: Bikeable, or take the St. Charles streetcar OUTBOUND (toward Tulane) to S. Carrollton/Claiborne (last stop), then walk 3 blocks
