North Rampart Community Center

North Rampart Community Center

The mission of North Rampart Community Center is to support the needs of New Orleans' children by providing academic, social, health, and cultural learning opportunities to enable and strengthen their personal growth and development.

North Rampart Community Center currently provides a free afterschool program to children and teens.  Kids have access to organized tutoring, homework assistance, instruction in basic computer skills, drama, music, arts and crafts, and supervised recreational activities such as swimming and basketball.

Loyola service learners can help children with homework and provide reading and math tutoring or basic computer skills.  Students can also help with recreational activities such as arts and crafts, basketball, and other games.  By serving at North Rampart Community Center, students will learn about the needs of the community and social and economic justice issues.  They will also learn how to work with different age groups while demonstrating leadership and teamwork.
