New Orleans Outreach

The mission of New Orleans Outreach is to improve the quality of public education at our partner schools.  We do this by linking volunteers and community resources through programs that respond to the needs of each school.  Students range from 5 to 18 years old and live all over the city.  They are 96% African-American and 94% qualify for free or reduced lunch.  Partner schools are selected based on their need for resources and their staff's commitment to improve their students' education.

Loyola service learning students may volunteer in a variety of programs at any of NOO's partner schools. Examples include: tutoring, classroom assistance, art, reading, robotics, martial arts, SAT/ACT preparation, special education, etc.  All volunteers at NOO partner schools must attend an NOO orientation session.  An orientation may be arranged on Loyola's campus.

Main Office Location: 215 N. Jefferson Davis Pkwy. (Students will not volunteer at this location.)
