Elevate New Orleans

ABOUT THE AGENCY
The mission of Elevate New Orleans is to elevate the life skills and abilities of inner-city student athletes through athletic, academic and social development. We help close the achievement gap by ensuring that inner-city youth have access to highly effective afterschool and summer developmental programs.

WHAT YOU DO
Students serving in the athletic program at Elevate can expect to perform the following tasks: signing in student-athletes and assisting coaches with basketball-related tasks.  Students serving in the academic program at Elevate can expect to tutor student athletes in the following areas: math, science, writing, Spanish and other subjects as needed.

WHAT YOU LEARN
By serving at Elevate, Loyola students will learn that inner-city student athletes are no different than any other kids.  They will also learn about the workings of a nonprofit dedicated to providing positive support for student athletes.  Finally, service learners will discover how they can make their own personal contribution to positive change.
