ABOUT THE AGENCY
The Center for Ethical Living and Social Justice Renewal (CELSJR) is a catalyst in the New Orleans and Gulf Coast Region for nurturing a sustainable, equitable and inclusive community by promoting social, racial and economic justice.
WHAT YOU DO
Students serving at CELSJR will be assigned to many different tasks including those in communications, hospitality, dialogue, administration, gardening, deep listening, writing, cooking, painting, and other tasks as they emerge.
WHAT YOU LEARN
Loyola service learners will have to opportunity to gain an appreciation for and a skillfulness in what it takes to run a volunteer center. Students will have to chance to develop positive relationships with community partners and a deeper understanding of systems of oppression.
