Catholic Charities: Hispanic Apostolate ESL
Catholic Charities Hispanic Apostolate Community Services offers ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to over 600 adult learners throughout the greater New Orleans area. We offer supplemental tutoring sessions for all of the students in our ESL classes at our Tulane University location on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. These tutoring sessions are integral to the success of our services because they reinforce what is learned in the classroom and provide students with the opportunity to fine-tune any aspect of the English language.
Loyola service learning students can tutor ESL students 1-on-1 and provide individual attention to each student's needs. Throughout September, service learning students can also help us register new students for our ESL classes. Helping with registration will give you many opportunities to practice speaking Spanish!
Location: Tutoring takes place on Tulane's campus in Newcomb Hall.
Registration may take place at several different locations. Click here for details, or check with Sam or Karla.
Transportation: Tutoring sessions are within walking distance. Registration locations vary.
Days and times: Tutoring takes place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Registration takes place at varying times throughout September. Click here for details.
