Bard Early College in New Orleans is a unique approach to early college education, extending the academic resources of a college directly into a public high school.

The Arts and Music in the Afternoon program (AM/PM) is a unique after school enrichment program where students have the opportunity to grow academically and gain exposure to the cultural arts through literacy instruction and fine arts activities delivered by a highly skilled cohort of professional Teaching Artists.  It is the aim of AM/PM to present middle and high school students with rich developmental opportunities to aid in their academic, social, and emotional cultivation.  Students currently have access to the following activities: Marching Band, Dance, Creative Writing, Cho

Kedila Family Learning Services is a non-profit organization that was formed after Hurricane Katrina and Gustav in New Orleans to address the lack of social services as the city's population slowly returned.  The current national crisis of high illiteracy rates is especially evident in the New Orleans school system.  We offer hope to those who have been left behind and help to close the gap of poverty.

The goal of Cafe con Ingles is to teach English to the immigrant members of St. Anthony of Padua Church and to build community at the church. Cafe con Ingles English as a Second Language (ESL) classes meet for approximately 1.5 hrs after the conclusion of the 9:15AM Spanish Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Before class students and volunteer teachers enjoy coffee, pastries, and conversation.

Catholic Charities: Adult Education offers individualized, self-paced instruction to adults seeking to continue their education in a supportive environment. The majority of our adult learners are working towards passing the GED test in order to complete their high school education.  Most are parents who seek to pass the GED test in order to improve their job prospects and the lives of their children.  

The Reading Room was created in 2007 to provide every second- and third- grade student at Lafayette Academy with one hour a week of one-on-one practice in reading fluency and comprehension skills. LEAP test scores reflect the success of program with 96% of Lafayette fourth-graders passing the LEAP last year.

NOLA Green Roots manages a network of community gardens throughout metropolitan New Orleans.  We teach hundreds of participants, including youth, low-income residents, and senior citizens, how to plant, care for and harvest fresh fruits and vegetables at a low cost.  We also run a compost service that helps local restaurants (and soon, residents) recycle food waste into living soil that nourishes our plants and helps us deliver baskets full of fresh, organic produce to our members twice a month.

Our mission is to ELEVATE the life skills and abilities of youth in America through mentor-based programs in athletics, academics, fitness and social development.  Our aim is to close the achievement gap by ensuring that inner-city youth have access to highly effective afterschool and summer developmental programs free of charge. 

Playworks' vision is that one day, every child in America will have access to safe, healthy play every day.   Play creates essential opportunities for children to explore their imaginations, to connect with other people and to stretch and grow physically, emotionally and socially.  Playworks focuses on five key areas to build play into the fabric of the community.

Andrew H. Wilson Charter School is an open-enrollment public charter school located in the Broadmoor neighborhood.  It currently serves over 500 students in grades K-8 from throughout the greater New Orleans region.
