Description of SACS

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges is the regional accrediting body for higher learning institutions in the Southern region. SACS works toward improving the quality of education by requiring measures which assure consistent improvement, accountability and institutional evaluation. Loyola's accreditation is reaffirmed every ten years by the commission.

"Loyola University New Orleans is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033 (404) 679-4500) to award bachelor, master, and doctor (juris doctor) degrees."
