Dear Colleagues, I hope you are looking forward to URMIA's 2003 Annual Conference as much as I am! This year's conference promises to be one of the best ever, combining a tremendous program with the wonderful city of New Orleans. I hope you will register early and come prepared to gain all the benefits this important professional experience has to offer. One of the great benefits of URMIA membership is the opportunity to develop and maintain professional relationships with others engaged in the fascinating business of higher education risk management. URMIA members represent higher education institutions of virtually every size and structure, as well as affiliate organizations that provide valuable services to help higher education risk management programs succeed. Each year, the Conference provides an excellent opportunity to broaden our network of risk management colleagues, share our experiences (good and bad...), gather objective feedback about our ideas, and obtain the most up-to-date knowledge about the risk management issues facing higher education today. The 2003 Conference Committee has worked very hard to develop a superior program of professional development and social activities to make this year's event a truly rewarding experience.
