Loyola Recycling

A single stream recycling dumpster from Allied Waste is now on the main campus.  It is located on West Road near the Danna Center Loading Dock and Biever Hall.

All of the following can go in to this new dumpster and can be mixed together:

  • office paper
  • junk mail
  • newspaper
  • paper bags
  • magazines
  • hone books
  • corrugated cardboard
  • “cereal box” type cardboard
  • aluminum cans
  • bimetal (tin) cans
  • plastic bottles

Please Note: plastic is a non-biodegradable substance being used to make disposable items!  Please consider using alternative types of sustainable containers to reduce plastic in the waste stream and help the environment.

The following can NOT be recycled in this dumpster:

  • glass
  • plastic bags
  • paper with food debris
  • paper with plastic or metal coating
  • waxed cardboard
  • batteries

We greatly appreciate your help to make the Loyola Recycling program succeed! To volunteer, or for more information, e-mail recycle@loyno.edu.
