Financial Accounting

ACCT-B601-W51

The course is designed as an introductory course to aid non-accounting MBA students working with and interpreting financial accounting data in a meaningful professional manner.  Students will not be expected to become heavily involved with detail bookkeeping activities.  This course is intended, however, to create an awareness of these activities as well as the accounting function.  Using financial information will be stressed to a greater extent than creating financial information.  Students should note that this course is, in some respects, the equivalent of introductory accounting at the undergraduate level.  This course, however, de-emphasizes bookkeeping aspects to some degree while introducing some topics that are more advanced than those presented at the undergratuate level.  Ethical decision making will be discussed throughout the course.
