Evening Program students awarded scholarships

Thirty Evening Program students were awarded scholarships in Fall 2008. The gifts were awarded to part-time and full-time students who have demonstrated academic achievement.

Tammy Ribbey was awarded the Betty P. Fosberg Scholarship. This scholarship was established through gifts from the family and friends of Betty Fosberg to commemorate her retirement after working for 15 years in Loyola University New Orleans' City College. It is awarded each year to an outstanding part-time undergraduate student enrolled in Evening Programs. The award recipient must be pursuing an undergraduate degree from Loyola, have been enrolled in at Loyola for at least two consecutive semesters immediately preceding the award semester, and have a Loyola cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Suzanne Walton was awarded the Israel Trestman Endowed Scholarship. The Israel Trestman Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of Israel Trestman by Robert, C’86, and Fran, C’97, Lenter, his son-in-law, and daughter. The award is bestowed each year on outstanding Evening Program students.

The LaNasa-Greco Endowed Scholarship was awarded to 27 students. The award receipients were: Jeffrey Babin, Jean Bussemeier, Jason Cefalu, Michael Cochran, Jennifer Crowell, Sean Denson, Olatokunbo Famulegun, Audrea Gallipoli, Megan Gevry, Melissa Gisevius-Brown, Courtney Hastings, Clay Hubble III, Richard Hutchison, Gail Jackson, Latina Jolivett, Laura Kloehn, Kelly Lange, Florence Maurin, Vernelle Mitchell, Janice Penton, Carl Phillips, Lindsay Pumnea, Robin Rome, Angelika Ruggia-Kretzer, Teresha Ussin, Lucille Vincent, and Susan Wyatt. The LaNasa-Greco Foundation funds this endowed scholarship to assist academically talented adult students at Loyola University New Orleans. The scholarship funds are available to both part-time and full-time Evening Program students.
