Certificate in Translation and Interpreting

The Certificate in Translation & Interpreting is a non-credit certificate program offered jointly from the Office of Professional & Continuing Studies, the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies, and the Department of Languages & Cultures. The certificate is a 21 credit continuing education program. Students are awarded three continuing education units (CEUs) for each course that they complete. Students can choose to complete a smaller concentrated certificate in either Healthcare or Legal Translation and Interpreting with 15 CEUs awarded.

The Certificate in Translation & Interpreting is designed for bilingual students who are interested in learning techniques and codes of practice in the fields of Spanish/English, English/Spanish translation and interpreting in legal and healthcare settings.
