BOLO BOLO Freret Street Garage - Auto Burglary

On 9/02/09 @ 2:29 a.m. a university police officer on patrol in the Freret Street Garage encountered a male on the second floor carrying auto stereo equipment. The officer attempted to stop the individual who entered a vehicle and fled the campus. The officer was able to obtain license plate information.

A vehicle was discovered in the garage which appeared to be burglarized. The owner of that vehicle was contacted and confirmed the auto burglary. NOPD was contacted to assist in the investigation.

The identity and address of the suspect vehicle's owner was obtained and the vehicle was located at an off campus address in eastern New Orleans. A search of that residence revealed the stolen property and NOPD officers made an arrest based on LUPD's information.
