BOLO BOLO Received From Tulane PD - Off Campus Armed Robbery- Mapel and Pine Streets

OFF CAMPUS ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY
DATE & TIME OF OCCURRENCE: August 31, 2009, at 11:55 PM
LOCATION: Intersection of Maple and Pine Streets
REPORTED OFFENSE: A student was walking westbound in the 7200 block of Maple Street when he was approached by two subjects, one from the front and one from the rear. The first subject displayed a black semi-automatic pistol tucked into his waistband and demanded the victim’s wallet. When the victim responded that he had nothing, the second subject struck him in the back of the head with a metal object. The two subjects fled west on Maple. The student sustained a laceration to the back of his head.
SUBJECT #1 DESCRIPTION: Black male, 5’9” to 5’10”, wearing a black T-shirt type shirt.
SUBJECT #2 DESCRIPTION: Black male, wearing a black T-shirt type shirt.
TAKE A STAND AGAINST CRIME
1. DO NOT RESIST AN ARMED ROBBER!
2. Travel in large groups and use taxis, public transportation, or safe-rides whenever possible.
3. Remember that excessive alcohol usage can make you a target for criminals.
4. Report suspicious individuals or activities as soon as possible. DO NOT WAIT.

This notice is also intended to meet the requirements of the “Timely Report” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, amended 2008, effective August 14, 2008.
