Banking: Loyola houses two on-campus automated teller machines from Bank One and Hibernia National Bank; both provide instant cash, deposits, and access to Cirrus, Pulse, Plus, and Gulf Net coded cards.

E-mail Accounts: All incoming students are issued an individual e-mail account consisting of a login name and a password. For detailed instructions on how to establish a PPP or Ethernet connection refer to Information Technology’s website at www.loyno.edu/infotech.html or contact client services at 865-2255.

Express Card/Identification Card: Picture identification cards are taken during registration for all first-time students. Once money is deposited in the express card account, it then functions as a debit card which can be used to make purchases on campus (see page 14 for more information).

Immunization Policy: Louisiana law requires all students entering the university for the first time to show proof of immunization for tetanus/diphtheria, measles, mumps rubella, and TB test. Student Health Service is located in the lower level of the Danna Center and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Internet Connections: Loyola computers connect to the Internet by way of either a PPP (dial-up) connection or via an Ethernet (direct) connection. The Ethernet cards allow fast access to the Internet and can be installed in a Pentium-based computer running Win 95 or higher. Cards are available for purchase and/or installation at the bookstore in the Danna Center.

Meal Plan: All freshmen undergraduate students who reside in university housing are required to participate in one of the meal plan options provided by dining services. Each meal plan option offers various combinations of "unlimited seconds" meals and "Wolf Bucks" which may be used to purchase meals and snacks. Meal plans may be purchased in the Concierge Office located next to the bookstore.

Parking: All Loyola students—with the exception of first-time, full-time freshmen living on campus—are allowed to purchase an on-campus parking permit. Cost breakdown for students is as follows:

  1 Semester 2 Semesters
Resident (Non-freshmen) $210 $400
Commuter $180 $340

Parking permit application forms may be obtained from the Express Card office. This application along with proof of automobile insurance and vehicle registration must be returned to the Express Card office located in the lower level of the Danna Center before a permit will be issued.

Refrigerator Rentals: Students who reside in the residence halls have the option of leasing a refrigerator or Microfridge from Loyola’s Student Government Association (SGA) office located in the basement of the Danna Center. There are a limited number of units available.

Textbooks: The Loyola Bookstore—www.loyno.bkstr.com—provides access to the largest source of used books available. While students have the option of ordering textbooks online, first-time students are encouraged to shop in the bookstore. In addition, SGA sells textbooks through its biannual SGA Book Exchange. Dates for returning and selling books are posted around campus.
