Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a student service organization which is administered by Loyola student-athletes. The organization is open to all full-time and part-time students. The organization meets on a monthly basis for prayer and fellowship. The organization also sponsors several community projects such as the "Kids Are Treats Program" and "Community Field Day" as well as a tutoring program thru the New Orleans Fellowship Foundation. Athletic and Academic Counseling
Student-Athletes are assigned counselors as are all students thru their perspective college. Counselors review students schedules and review their progress for graduation among other topics. Each head coach is also responsible for tracking their student-athletes attendance in class, grade point averages, and progress towards their degree. The athletic department believes very strongly that academics comes first and foremost and its goal is to graduate 100% of its student-athletes.
Athletic Training and Medicine
The athletic program provides a full time athletic trainer. There is also athletic training and rehabilitation support for student-athletes through Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine (TISM). The athletic program also provides a staff of team doctors through (TISM) which is located minutes from the campus.
Student Affairs
The Division of Student Affairs also provides services for student-athletes as well as the whole student body which compliment and enhance the classroom encounter and relate to the total education of the student. These services include:
- The Counseling & Career Services Center. This department serves the purpose of helping students meet expectations that university life has to offer them, as well as aiding students in career or job advancement possibilities. Counseling and information is available to all students for any reason.
- The Loyola Dining Services. The food services is a big part of life on campus and dining services provides students with many choices for food consumption. The main dining hall is the Orleans Room. It provides students with a myriad of choices for cafeteria dining. The Underground allows students to pick up a po-boy, sandwich, baked potato, soup, or salad while enjoying a unique studying atmosphere. The Underground also features PJ’s Coffee which includes a variety of coffees, teas, and pastries for early morning or late night studying. The Fast Food area includes a Pizza Hut Express, a Taco Bell, and a Smoothie King for the student on the go or looking for a quick snack.
- Residential Life. The resident halls are designed to support the academic and personal goals of its residents. It provides an environment to share activities and interests with others through programs implemented by university departments or organizations. The halls aid the student in developing the foundations for everlasting relationships with peers and the experiences of independence and responsibility associated with community living.
- Recreational Sports. A variety of intramurals and recreational activities are available to the student body. Intramurals include flag football, volleyball, basketball, softball, indoor hockey, tennis, golf, and other activities. Recreational activities include aerobics, water aerobics, combatant sports, and other activities.
- Student Activities. This department oversees a great deal of leisure and extracurricular activities that students are involved in. Students can take part in many activities and become involved in a variety of student organizations. These include Greek organizations, Student Government, and the University Programming Board to name a few.
- Student Health. Students may visit the Student Health Center whenever thay are concerned about any type of health or physical problem that they are having. The Student Health Director or their health assistants are always on duty and doctors visit the center on a regular basis to examine patients.
- The Danna Center. In addition to food services, Student Activities, Student Health, and Counseling, Career Development and Placement, the Danna Center is also the home for many other student attractions. The center includes the university bookstore, a travel agency (Council Travel), a barber shop (Mane Attraction), a computer shop (Microcenter), U.S. Post Office, and a game room.
