Responsibilities:Coaching: Involved with day to day on court coaching duties and player development.

Scouting: Responsible for breakdown of opponent and presenting edit tapes and written scouting report for staff and players.

Recruiting: Assist in sending and receiving questionnaires and mail outs to recruits and coaches; organize all “official visits” by recruits and their families. Organize LSU basketball portfolio for “home visits” for recruits and their families.

Academics: Liaison for men’s basketball and the Academic Center for Student-Athletes. Track and monitor academic progress of all student-athletes, especially the moderate and high-risk students. Report directly with Executive Director Assistant to Director of Academic Center for weekly meetings.

Administrative Duties: Organize, present, and implement men’s basketball budget (@ $2 million). Organize practice schedule for preseason, season, and post season, involves semester calendar, weekly schedules and daily schedules for staff and team. Responsible for all travel, including hotel, bus, and plane arrangements, paying all bills, and player and staff meal stipends. Order all equipment and uniforms.

  • Assist in organizing and marketing 6 th Man Club, the major booster program. Present “chalk talk” to members of 6 th Man Club prior to home games on team’s opponent.
  • Organize and direct the John Brady Tiger Basketball Camps, five per summer. Involves recruiting staff and marketing camp for future LSU student athletes and high school teams.
  • Organized and directed the John Brady Basketball Camp Golf Tournament in conjunction with the Fore!KidsFoundation, August, 2002.

Coordinate faculty/staff-coaches luncheon: monthly informal luncheon open to faculty/staff to visit with coaching staff.

Administrative Duties: Negotiate all contracts with non-conference opponents and involved with league office in scheduling league games. Responsible for all travel, including hotel, bus, and plane arrangements, paying bills, and meal stipends for players and staff.

  • Organize and coordinate UNO Coaches Committee, the UNO basketball booster club. Edit and publish quarterly newsletter to members.
  • Organize high school & playground basketball clinics, Lil Privateer Club, and direct and market the Joey Stiebing summer basketball camps, six per summer.

Responsible for all facets of a Division I basketball camp, i.e. marketing and promoting camp, securing liability and accident insurance, camp balls, camp t- shirts, trophies, securing camp sponsors and guest speakers, hiring entire camp staff and volunteers, producing camp brochures, operating concessions and camp store.
