The Cardoner Leadership Fellows program challenges first year students to develop personal leadership styles through engaging academic coursework and co-curricular projects. Fellows enroll in an academic leadership class, live in the Cardoner learning community, and plan a civic engagement project which will address social justice issues in New Orleans.
Students are nominated by the Vice President of Student Affairs & Associate Provost to apply to the Cardoner Leadership Fellows program based on submitted applications for university admission.
Fellowships of $1,000 are awarded to twenty first-year students. Awards are renewable, pending student eligibility, up to four years.
The priority deadline to apply to be a Cardoner Leadership Fellow is February 24, 2010. Applications are reviewed through the month of February and early March with accepted students notified on May 15, 2010. All Cardoner Leadership Fellows must be full time students and reside in a Loyola University Residence hall.
