The Monroe Library in Numbers
In 2006, the Monroe Library was ranked 10th in the “Best College Library” category of The Best 361 Colleges by The Princeton Review. This year the library moved up to sixth place in the ranking. The library is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date technology and resources to our students and faculty, and it only takes a walk through the library to see that it’s a popular place. Exhibits in the Library
Loyola Student Exhibits
Three student art exhibits are currently on display in the Monroe Library. The senior show is on display in the Diboll Gallery (Monroe Library, 4th floor). The junior show, Sculptour, is on display at the front of the second floor. The photography show, Four From Five, is on display in the library Living Room.
Jesuit Province Centennial Exhibit
A rare 1764 Lettres Patentes du Roi, written by King Louis XV, King of France and Navarre, is on display at Loyola University’s Monroe Library as part of the Jesuit Province Centennial Exhibit. The document is on loan from the Haynie Family Historical Collection of Lafayette, La.

The library now opens at 11 a.m. on Sundays. The complete list of hours is available on our site.
The Monroe Library has 18 lockers located on the back of the first floor for currently enrolled Loyola students to use. They are just the right size for a backpack, books, and other items you might need to stow while you go to class or a meeting. Lockers can be checked out for three days at a time. Stop by the Learning Commons desk to check out a locker key.
