As a student living off campus, you might feel a bit disconnected from the great opportunities Loyola University New Orleans has to offer. As a resource for you, the Office of Co-Curricular Programs and Information Technology has created "On the Go!: The Off-Campus Update", an online newsletter designed exclusively for students living off campus that will highlight Loyola's services, resources, major themes, and calendar of events.

Spotlight

Student Personal Evacuation Plan

All Loyola students are required to file a Personal Evacuation Plan, indicating an evacuation location and emergency contact information, through their LORA account. Students are not allowed to remain on Loyola's campus, including residence halls, when an evacuation is ordered. They should make transportation and lodging arrangements so that they will be safely outside the storm area.

UPB Highlight

The University Programming Board (UPB) serves to educate and entertain the entire Loyola University community through a broad spectrum of programs. To kick off the new school term, UPB is sponsoring an array of programming during Wolfpack Welcome, including a comedy show featuring Theo Von, from MTV Road Rules, and Friends on August 29th from 9-10:30 p.m. in the St. Charles Room, and a New Orleans Saints pre-season game on the big screen in The Underground on Thursday, August 30, at 7 p.m.

University Police Services

University Police Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Officers patrol both campuses on foot, on bicycle, and in marked and unmarked vehicles. Officers are graduates of state-approved police academies and many are college graduates or are pursuing their college degrees. All officers are certified in CPR and First Aid. The department includes a full-time crime prevention officer and investigator.

Feature Story

Co-Curricular Programs

This past summer, the former Office of Student Activities adopted a new name and philosophy. Now titled the Office of Co-Curricular Programs, the office provides direct services, student development opportunities, educational seminars and training, and social, cultural and recreational activities for the Loyola community. The programs and activities of the department are designed to allow community members exposure to ideas, events, and issues that will enhance their collegiate experience and provide individual developmental opportunities.

The Spiritual Exercises is a thirty-day, silent retreat with an organized series of meditations, considerations, contemplations, self-examination, prayer, and guidelines formulated by Ignatius for opening oneself to God's spirit and allowing one's whole being, not just mind, to be affected.
