Loyola business partners

The College of Business Administration hosted Wendy Lee Gramm, Distinguished Senior Fellow and Chair of Regulatory Studies at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in Virginia, as part of the college's Business Partners Program. Gramm discussed her grandparents' immigration to the United States from Hawaii, where they began as pineapple farmers. She gave a public lecture on October 28 and was the guest speaker at the CBA Business Partners breakfast. Gramm is also a member of the Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System. She holds a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, both in economics. At the morning talk, Gramm's husband, former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm, vice president of UBS, an investment banking firm, spoke on the effects of government regulation as a hidden tax.
