Inauguration and reunion festivities plans underway

A milestone in the life of the university will take place on Friday, October 15, as the university inaugurates its 16th president, the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J.

Inaugural festivities begin with a Mass at 2 p.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church. The Inauguration Ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. in Roussel Hall. The Rev. James P. Bradley, S.J., will be the master of ceremonies and Fr. Wildes will give his inaugural address in which he will articulate his vision for and role of the university to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and donors. Special guests scheduled to give greetings are Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana Mitch Landrieu; Provincial of the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus the Rev. Fred J. Kammer, S.J., and Bill Arceneaux President of the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Additional greetings will be given by Loyola University Alumni Association President Salvador G. Longoria, A'80, L'83; University Faculty Senate Chair Nancy Dupont; University Administrative Senate Chair John Sears; and Student Government Association President Martina Mills.

Following the Inauguration Ceremony, Sodexho will sponsor as inaurgural President's Reception in the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library. Inaugural festivities will conclude with a collage concert by the College of Music in Roussel Hall at 8 p.m. Members of the Loyola community are invited to all events.

Loyola Celebrates Reunion Weekend

Loyola will host Reunion Weekend on October 14-17. During the weekend, the university will honor the Class of 1954 as well as all communications graduates and celebrate the 30th anniversary of Loyola University Community Action Program (LUCAP).

Loyola University New Orleans annual Alumni Association Luncheon
Presentation of the Adjutor Hominum Award to Russell G. Cresson, B'49

Cressson was the university photographer at Loyola for nearly 40 years. A retrospective of his Loyola photographs, prepared by current university photographer, Harold Baquet, will be on exhibit in the Monroe Library on the third floor.

Homecoming events are open to all alumni, and are being held on Loyola's main campus.
