April 9, 2004 One Book, One New Orleans comes to LoyolaRachel Nicolosi, community outreach coordinator for the Boggs National Center for Community Literacy, and student Damien Black discuss Ernest Gaines' novel, A Lesson Before Dying. Under the program, One Book, One New Orleans, group discussions of Lesson will be held around the city. The Young Leadership Council and the Literacy Alliance of Greater New Orleans developed the program to encourage everyone in the Greater New Orleans area to read the same book and to learn about the literacy challenges in the city. |
