An apple for the excellent teacher

Kvet, dean of the College of Music, was awarded the Steuben Apple Award for Teaching Excellence by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) on February 12 during the CASE Development for Deans conference held in New Orleans.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., CASE is the professional organization for advancement professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications, and development within educational institutions.

The Steuben Apple Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes CASE faculty members whose presentations and teaching ability have been rated excellent by conference attendees at 10 or more CASE international educational programs.
At this CASE conference, Kvet offered a presentation called "The Dean's Perspective" as it relates to the fund-raising process, and he hosted a panel discussion titled "The Joyful Giver: The Philanthropist's Perspective," which featured College of Music benefactors Robert Monroe and Rita and Merl Huntsinger.
The Steuben Apple was presented to Kvet at the end of the donor panel in the company of his CASE colleagues and Loyola family members.
