Loyola winner of prestigious advertising awards

Loyola staff, faculty, and students were among the honorees receiving Addy Awards from the Advertising Club of New Orleans at a gala event on March 12. The Addy Awards honor excellence in advertising and cultivate the highest creative standards in the industry. The awards are prestigious and the process for selecting winners is extremely competitive.

Several publications written and designed by members of the Office of Publications and Marketing Communications received awards. Among these were the College of Music Montage Performance Brochure 2003 ­ 04, with contributions from publications manager Mary Degnan, marketing communications manager Reid Wick, and photographer Harold Baquet; the Airport Marketing Ads, with contributions from art director and graphic designer Allee Anderson, Baquet, and alumnus Robbie Vitrano; and the Admissions Undergraduate Prospectus, which won the top award in its category with contributions from Anderson, admissions publications coordinator Ray Willhoft, Baquet, and Degnan.

The Pack Pride Campaign also won awards for the Loyola Traditions Booklet, with contributions from student designers Lauren Aslop and James Jarc, and advisers, chair and associate professor of communications Teri Henley and assistant professor of communications Debra Woodfork. The Pack Pride Campus Campaign won, with contributions from student designers Aslop, Jarc, and Christy Rowley, and advisers Henley and Woodfork.

The Ad Team won awards with contributions from students, Alsop, Katherine Bany, Allison Blasetti, Margeau Bull, Cristina Garcia, Melissa Guidry, Caryn Hein, Priscilla Hollier, Christy Jackson, Jarc, Adam Loftin, Tiana-Kai Madera, Michelle Murrell, Jamie Pollet, Randy Reid, Rowley, Maggie Shea, Alexandra Wesley, and Scott Wilson, and advisers, Henley, Woodfork, research department director Liz Reynolds, creative department director Dustin Thornhill, and media department director Vanessa Rodriguez.

Students won Addy awards for class projects for courses they were taking during the semester. Sarah Dhane won for the Intro to Layout and Design for the Habitat Restore Logo with adviser Woodfork. The Preservation Resource Center won with contributions from students Kyla Boutte, Cheri Gomez, Jarc, Shea, and Julie Schweer with adviser Henley.

Loup Garou won for their postcards with contributions from student designers Jarc and Julie Parker.
