Loyola earns the gold at United Way

United Way of Greater New Orleans has recognized the Loyola community for excellence. A new organizational giving category "The Gold Club" has been established to identify nonprofit organizations that annually contribute $50,000 or more to help fund more than 135 health and human service programs. Loyola is one of only eight other organizations receiving this award.

The official Loyola campaign ran in October and the final total of money raised was $66,153. Loyola students, the only students in the 10 New Orleans-area colleges and universities who contribute to United Way, staged a fun event in early September. The "Go Bananas" dance-a-thon raised almost $2,500. Another event sponsored by three fraternitiesPhi Kappa Psi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.raised $1,600.

Thank you once again to the entire Loyola family for caring enough to generously contribute to the vitality and well being of our entire community.
