Michael Saliba makes service learning his business

Michael Saliba has been a member of the College ofBusiness Administration for 30 years and that level of commitment is mirrored in the area of service learning, most notable his involvement with Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans. Saliba is a member of the board of directors and a member of the executive committee and Programs and Volunteers Committee. He used his position at Junior Achievement to create opportunities for service learning, Carol Jeandron, director of service learning, said in presenting Saliba with the Faculty Award for Excellence and Dedication to Service Learning at the fall convocation on August 18.

Through the Junior Achievement Elementary School Programs, Loyola students teach business concepts to K-6 students in New Orleans public schools. More than 120 CBA students participated in the program this most recent academic year. In fact, Loyola is the single highest supplier of participants for the Junior Achievement program in the city.
