Cheerleaders leaped over competition this summer

The squad attended the UCA Camp in Woodworth, Louisiana, in July and came away with top awards. Team members Carolyn Giacona (captain), Brooke Vreeland (co-captain), Kristen Turner (president), Aimee Sofio, Brynn Manning, Sophie Rosado (treasurer), and Erin Dubuclet competed against French Settlement Varsity and Junior Varsity, Acadia Varsity, Pine Prarie Junior Varsity, and Gilbert Junior Varsity.

Loyola's Cheerleaders received the leadership award. The leadership award it is not only the highest and most prominent award given, it's the award voted on by all participating squads. The squad also won first place in xtreme routine dance, xtreme routine cheer, and home pom dance and received all superior ribbons. Vreeland, Turner, Dubuclet, and Giacona were named UCA All-stars. Dubuclet won first place overall in the jump-off competition.
