Loyola: a campus that cares

Students and University Ministry Chaplain and Loyola University Community Action Program (LUCAP) adviser Sr. Leyla Cerda, CSJ, went "Into the Streets" on August 24 in a community service project with Habitat for Humanity at 1701 Marigny Street. "Into the Streets" is part of the "Catch the Action" orientation program for incoming freshmen.

One of the hallmarks of a Jesuit education is service to others, and the Loyola community has many arms out in the community. Last year, nearly 820 Loyola students contributed over 20,000 hours of community service.
